Trying to get kids to eat!

Feeding your children whether they are babies, toddlers or teens is always going to be a chore......!!!! Its just not fun anymore but I have learnt to hide certain foods in their meals without them even knowing it! Ha ha....sneaky, yes, but what they don't know wont hurt them. Ideas like, throwing a raw egg in their shakes, yes it may taste a little different however if you start putting it in their very first shake......they will never know the difference. Its just things a mum has to do!

When my kids got to their toddler age and decided they didn't like green food as it didn't look nice (even though they had been eating it for ages) I would grate the green foods in their meals, for eg, on pizza, in soups, in casseroles, you name it....they just never knew. As they are a little older now they do love their vegetables so its all good. Who knows, maybe it was my doing!!

As my kids get older, things with foods change. They are fussy with texture and colours but i am so blessed that they love their fruit and veg however they like it raw and not cooked which is ok with me as raw is much healthier anyway! Starting your kids off young with these type of foods is really important. My kids are accustomed to eating foods out of their zone, and its all because I started to feed them these foods in the beginning. Soups, stews, casseroles, all the healthy alternatives as its so good for your health and your body!

Sugars, additives and preservatives are big no no's in my home. Fizzy drinks are the worst to feed your child. Steer away form this as you can as it can make your child hyperactive and internal issues in the long run not to mention rotting their teeth and bones!! If you insist on giving your kids juices, please dilute 50/50 with water. These drinks are so ridiculously high in sugars and other un healthy ingredients. In saying this, I do let the kids have cheat days as you cant hide everything from them.....or can you! That's your choice!

Go to www.littlepeepz.com and check out the cool recipe books there. You'll find them located on the right side bars on most pages.
